In 2003, the Conway Downtown Partnership, City of Conway, and Conway Corporation completed downtown’s first “model block,” with improvements along a portion of Front Street. The $100,000 project included new sidewalks with brick pavers, landscaping, new period streetlights, and improvements to underground infrastructure. A second project completed one year later, remodeled a parallel block on Parkway.

In 2005, two additional blocks along Front Street were completed with a $270,000 federal grant. Currently, work is underway to complete the remainder of Front Street to Hendrix College with a $620,000 federal grant.

With over $1.1 million in public way improvements already completed and underway, the Downtown Partnership continues to focus on the goal – realizing a similar enrichment throughout the rest of downtown.
